More GP appointments for Islington residents at evenings and weekends
If you live in Islington you can now access more evening and weekend appointments with a GP or nurse thanks to three primary care ‘hubs’ as part of the borough’s i:HUB service. To make an appointment you can call your GP practice during normal business hours and ask for an i:HUB appointment. If your practice is closed, you should call your usual practice number and your call will be answered by i:HUB staff who will be able to help you.
Self-referral is particularly suitable for people with relatively simple conditions such as joint pain, strains or other injuries.
If you have more complex needs – for example, you have movement problems caused by a stroke or multiple sclerosis (MS) – you may still need a referral from a doctor.
Supported employment for people with a health condition
Islington residents who are out of work and with a long term condition can volunteer to be referred by their GP for support from an employment specialist. Please ask your GP for further information.
We can arrange an interpreter to be present at your appointment if you request this in advanced. At short notice we can only arrange a telephone interpreter. Please ask at reception for further details.
